Episode 27: Girls state tourney and boys regional tourney talk

It’s another hoops-filled episode of the podcast. Jenny Dial joins Sam to break down Cy-Fair’s state championship game win over Hightower and discuss Chiney Ogwumike’s place in Houston girls high school basketball history.

Then Sam and Matt examine Yates’ latest win in the 4A Region III tournament as well as Bush’s stunning victory over Bellaire in the 5A Region III tourney. Some interesting questions are posed, such as where Yates fits in the pantheon of Houston high school basketball history and how Bush-Bellaire finished.

Episode 23: Signing day, hoops, realignment and much more

After a busy week on the high school front, there was plenty to cover on the show. Sam recaps some of the happenings from National Signing Day and takes a look at the week in hoops.

For high school football die-hard fans, there’s a little bonus in the show: a post-realignment glance at some of the interesting non-district matchups that are known for 2010.

And for the general sports fan: Since we recorded on Super Bowl Sunday (about three hours before kickoff), Producer Matt and Sam talked about the Super Bowl and provided some analysis and even made picks. Hope you can enjoy all of it:

Episode 20: Yates, hoops updates, Morton Ranch, officials, football recruiting and more!

Lots of ground covered in the latest episode. The Yates boys basketball team is a topic of discussion (surprise, surprise) as well as plenty of other thoughts from other hoops contests from the past week.

There is also some brief talk on football recruiting (check for updates on recently committed players) as well as the Morton Ranch saga and the officials situation.

And there are shout outs! A couple of you sent in e-mails after listening to the entire last episode so if you did, listen for your shout out.
